About Jane
I enjoy furthering my own study of yoga for the benefit of myself and my students. I have recently finished the training to become a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course Tutor and will be running a course in September 2012 - details in the News section of my website. I am also the Treasurer for the Southern Region of the British Wheel of Yoga. Having completed the BWY TPOT training, I am qualified to observe trainee teachers for RTP1 and RTP2. In January 2008 I completed the BWY Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers Module developed by Cathy-Mae Karelse and accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga. Ayurveda (which means "the science of life") is the sister science to Yoga and, amongst other things, highlights the fact that we all have individual constitutions and how we live our life (and practise our yoga!) needs to reflect this. In November 2007 I gave a talk entitled "What is Yoga" to the Basingstoke Breast Cancer Support Group at the Ark Centre at Basingstoke Hospital. There was a short talk followed by a short session of yoga in which everyone could join in. During the summer of 2007 I taught yoga classes at several Ayurveda retreat weekends at Tekels Park, Camberley. In the spring of 2007 I completed the Foundation Course in Yoga Therapy with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London. |
