About Jane

Basingstoke & Hampshire Yoga Teacher: Jane RobersonHello, I'm Jane Roberson and I have been practising yoga for over 20 years.  I am a qualified teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga which is the governing body for Yoga in Great Britain. I presently teach classes at Winchfield RG27 8BX (2 daytime and 1 evening), Fort Hill School, Basingstoke RG23 8JQ (1 evening class) and Hook (Elizabeth Hall, Hook RG27 9HH)

I enjoy furthering my own study of yoga for the benefit of myself and my students.

On 12th October 2008, I attended the British Wheel of Yoga, Souther Region's AGM in Lambourn.  We had a wonderful day of yoga with Tara Fraser whose theme was "change".  At lunch time at the AGM I was elected Secretary to the Southern Region of the British Wheel of Yoga and I am very much looking forward to the challenge!

I enjoyed a day of yoga with Doug Keller in London on 1st November 2008.

In May 2008 I attended the Yoga Journal Yoga Conference in Boston, USA.  This is a four day intensive covering all aspects of yoga and included such teachers as Gary Kraftsow, Cyndi Lee and Julie Gudmestad.

In January 2008 I completed the Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers Module developed by Cathy-Mae Karelse and accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga.  Ayurveda (which means "the science of life") is the sister science to Yoga and, amongst other things, highlights the fact that we all have individual constitutions and how we live our life (and practise our yoga!) needs to reflect this.

In November 2007 I gave a talk entitled "What is Yoga" to the Basingstoke Breast Cancer Support Group at the Ark Centre at Basingstoke Hospital.  There was a short talk followed by a short session of yoga in which everyone could join in.

During the summer of 2007 I taught yoga classes at several Ayurveda retreat weekends at Tekels Park, Camberley.

In the spring of 2007 I completed the Foundation Course in Yoga Therapy with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London.
