About Jane

Basingstoke & Hampshire Yoga Teacher: Jane RobersonHello, I'm Jane Roberson and I have been practising yoga for over 20 years.  I am a qualified teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga which is the governing body for Yoga in Great Britain. I presently teach classes at Winchfield RG27 8BX (2 daytime and 1 evening).

I enjoy furthering my own study of yoga for the benefit of myself and my students.  At present, I am also the Treasurer for the Southern Region of the British Wheel of Yoga.  Having completed (in 2009) the BWY TPOT training, I am also qualified to observe students for RTP1 and RTP2.

On 11th October 2009 I went to the BWY Southern Region's AGM where we had a wonderful day with Ranju Roy.  "The subject was honouring the elements".

In April 2009 I attended the British Wheel of Yoga Congress which was over a weekend and was full of brilliant yoga classes.

I also enjoyed a day of yoga with Doug Keller in London on 1st November 2008.

In May 2008 I attended the Yoga Journal Yoga Conference in Boston, USA.  This is a four day intensive covering all aspects of yoga and included such teachers as Gary Kraftsow, Cyndi Lee and Julie Gudmestad.

In January 2008 I completed the Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers Module developed by Cathy-Mae Karelse and accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga.  Ayurveda (which means "the science of life") is the sister science to Yoga and, amongst other things, highlights the fact that we all have individual constitutions and how we live our life (and practise our yoga!) needs to reflect this.

In November 2007 I gave a talk entitled "What is Yoga" to the Basingstoke Breast Cancer Support Group at the Ark Centre at Basingstoke Hospital.  There was a short talk followed by a short session of yoga in which everyone could join in.

During the summer of 2007 I taught yoga classes at several Ayurveda retreat weekends at Tekels Park, Camberley.

In the spring of 2007 I completed the Foundation Course in Yoga Therapy with the Yoga Biomedical Trust in London.
